    NC Castle Doctrine Petition

I have no idea where to put this thread.

I came across this on another forum. I have no idea where it's going but I understand that the Castle Doctrine was struck down by NC legislators this summer.

House Bill 2187 was vetoed by Easley concerning towing overwidth boat trailers and it was successfully overturned by the senate. Maybe this can help the Castle Doctrine in NC.

    Glad to help.

Guys, I hate to point this out but when I click the 'Sign the Petition' link it takes me to the screen where I must enter my name, email etc. At the top of that page it says: "Eligible Signatories - Residents of North Carolina"

So I don't know that signatures from those of us in other states are going to help. I did forward this to several friends who live in NC though. Hope that helps.

What's really needed as well is the law allowing carry into a restaurant that serves alcohol as long as you are not drinking. Most states that do have the 51% rule. 51% of the restaurant's business must be other than food which pretty much rules out bars. Not being able to carry in any restaurant just because they can sell someone a beer is ludicrous.
