IMO, only bad things can come from your disclosing that you carry.
not to the community. i was thinking more of the other board members... i would never tell the other

Don't give them an opportunity to project their irrational fears. Keep it concealed.

I am convinced that you were joking.

For those who might think otherwise: Anyone who would reveal that they are carrying with the belief or intent that it would deter verbal assaults, he is on the wrong track. CHL is expected to be able to tolorate more verbal abuse than a non-CHL.

And him knowing you have a gun before he shows up will help you how? Why disclose to anyone who isn't immediate family about carrying?
i saw enough of HOA and lake associations before to know I would never live in an area that required membership.

Sorry, my mistake. But, I still think that it is a bad idea, if for no other reason that it is unlikely the information will not get out to the community once you disclose to the other board members.

My firm rule is that I tell only members of my family whom I trust, and those to whom I have a legal obligation to tell. No one else. Others may feel differently about this issue.
