West Virginia/South Carolina Sign Reciprocity Agreement

The West Virginia Citizens Defense League has sent me a signed copy of the Agreement signed by WV/SC. So WV and SC now have reciprocity. Neither WV or SC official websites are reporting this agreement as of this afternoon. SC signed the agreement 8/24 and WV signed 8/29.

Handgunlaw.us will be updated in the next 24 hours to reflect this change in reciprocity.

But it is better than what we had.

Give SLED some credit, they are working at it.

Now if we can just make the list of names NOT public record......

Hehehe... I am afraid to give them too much credit yet. Seems like some movement lately but perhaps too soon to see how really proactive they may be after a while. I hope they continue. These last two seem to have been stimulated by the other state itself making contact... but I don't know that for a fact. So I will just say thank you SLED and keep it up!

The good thing about the FL and WV agreements was that for SC residents we weren't covered by a NH permit. Next we need NV and CO.

Excellent, I'll have the "Solid South," with that one.
I still don't see it on the WV AG website, and it was signed late August? Hopefully this is for real and not someone's idea of a joke.

As far as PA goes, I suspect that may be a problem since PA doesn't have a training requirement. Some states won't enter into reciprocity because of lack of training requirements.

Well then they need to honor non-residents I'm in the process of getting my FL non-res, but SC wont honor non-residents.

You could try at PA firearms owner's and see if they're pushing for more reciprocity. They seem to have some influence in PA.
Like it or not several states don't accept "3rd party" permits.

For XD: I am fairly sure the governor of SC signed last year that permit holders names would be private.
