$3
They asked me for $3 when i picked up my CCW today! Can you believe it. With all the money we shell out for the training and application fees they still want more. Don't get me wrong, it could have been more than $3 and i am very pleased that i can now carry but it was just funny to me.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent!

Administration fees or lamination process? What else could you do with $3? One gallon of gas won't get you very far! LOL!

I guess if you've never wasted $3 before, I would complain...other than that? Pay the 3 beaners and grap your permit...enjoy it's use.

Welcome aboard.
Yea that 3 bucks won't seem like much after you go to buy your first 10 or 20 boxes of ammo.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Congrats on getting your permit. How do you like that CW9?

Thanks for the feedback everybody! I just thought the whole situation was pretty funny. I believe the fee was for the lamination.
Jackle1886, i ended up getting a Kahr P9 instead of the CW9.

I didn't have to pay in Van Buren county, at least anything over the original fee. My friend in kzoo had the same thing as you. Just another way to wring out our wallets.

the economy changed a bit while you were waiting so they had to charge you extra.

Sometimes it's better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission!
The key to that is knowing when, especially if the wife is involved. Also it it to beg for forgiveness, not ask.

That's $3 out of the budget for the mandatory trip to Walmart for nachos.
That hurts in this economy!
Congrats on the permit!

in Texas for first time CHL most classes that include all paperwork prints and passport pic is 125.00 and then you give the DPS 140.00 processing fee non-refundable for a total of 265.00
i spent some more actually by running around tracking down files and getting extra electronic prints and so forth.
worth it?.....YES
