i would think the CT's should help a lot for his problem otherwise theres not a lot you can do till you heal up.
I know when i busted up my shoulder if i had been old enough to carry i would have been in deep crap even though it was right shoulder even lifting arm up high put me in major pain.
Till i healed up i was fairly useless couldnt get up on my own could barely dress myself.. Was Brutal i would hate to go though it now.
I'm not aging as gracefully as I once hoped I might. March 29 will see both me knees replaced, finally. Lately, I walk everywhere with a cane and have had to make some adjustments. I try to keep the cane in my left hand, as I amright handed and carry in my right front pocket. At the range, I have to sit between every two magazines. In the bad palces, which I try to avoid, I have to think "where can I fall to my left side, if needed". It all comes down to making accomodations like carrying for comfort, not to be comfortable.
I believe the CT option in this case is a good accomodation.
Be Well and take care of your knees
Buck - hey
Heck man - sorry to hear about them knees. I recall some mention use of cane once before but was unaware you were in such dire straights.
Well - here is hoping and toes crossed, that the surgery will give you a huge and needed lease of mobility. It sure leaves you very disadvantaged - as well of course as very frustrated.
Knocking on wood - I am quite lucky with my joints - tho back is pretty crappy and knees do protest when I get up from a crouch! But nothing like you have. I am lucky. Just average wear and tear I guess!
Stay in touch later and I will hoping for good things coming your way.
