    Shootings

We hear so much about these random shootings in malls, schools etc. There was even a program on TV Going Postal. Would 'nt it be nice if there was a program about the people who used a gun in the defense of their lives?

It would be nice, but you'll not see it, it doesn't meet the liberal presses agenda. They think they know what is best for us and will try and shove it down our throats every chance they get.
Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

The media rarely shows good news. So a 30 minute program with all good news would just not fly with the people who call the shots. Us regular folks however would love to sit and watch a program that shows honest citizens taking on the bad guys and coming out on top. I would love to see it. It would be an education for some who don't think that they could or should take responsibility for their own security.

The mainstream network media outlets don't give much airtime to citizens that defend themselves, but you can find a few shows that do. I rarely watch TV, and when I do it is rarely the big network channels. I prefer cable channels, and one of my favorites is TruTV (used to be CourtTV). They show lots of cop/crime shows and documentaries, and they have some series like Most Shocking, Most Extreme, etc. Basically videos from patrol cars, eyewitness camcorders, and surveillance cameras of all sorts of stuff. Each show is usually on a specific theme (high speed chases, drunk drivers, robberies, etc.) They've had several about shootouts and also citizens who fight back. Convenience store clerks, pawn & jewelry store owners, LEOs, etc., and not just in the US but all over the world. Pretty interesting stuff.

C'mon now, we wouldn't want people to think that guns are useful would we? I mean everyone who has a gun is a crook right? lol

Holy smokes! I like the idea. Are there any folks on the forum who are in the industry that could float this idea to a producer? Cops seems to have a good following. I think most people like seeing bad guys get taken out. Gosh, that's why Rambo was so stinkin' popular.

I would be interesting to say the least. As mentioned above, I doubt any stations would run with it because the good guys win. It could make a heck of a movie though ;)

Unfortunately, the liberal media has their "own" agenda - and that's in quotes because it is not really their own. It is the agenda of many of the liberals in power. If there were as many stories published about the use of legal firearms to save lives, property, etc. as there are about the illegal use of firearms, it would create a true rationale for the 2nd Amendment in the eyes of many who are ambivalent about or anti- 2A. And that would be extremely anti-left. Maybe some day that will change when the majority of "Americans" begin to assume responsibility for their own well-being instead of sucking off of the government teat. But I'm not holding my breath. (But I am holding on to my weapons)

Actually I think it did make several movies. Think Charles Bronson in "Death Wish". Of course, he goes on the offensive, rather than just defending himself

The Media, I find, do not out and out lie and create "facts" out of whole cloth. (With a few very notable execptions. Dan Rather.) They highlight and advance their socialist agenda by acting as the Gate Keepers of the news. Their bias is advanced and aperent by what the media does not report on as much if not more so than by what they do report on.-Jay

I wonder if it would really even change that many perceptions, firearm proponents would only further justify their beliefs, while firearm opponents would simply still say "why do we need guns at all, look someone just died." Of course, the latter would be coming from the type of person that thinks if you do everything you are told in a situation, that you will come out unharmed...

It isn't going to happen...most of the media is in the tank with the liberal, anti-gun, progressive, give-away for no work, Marxist crowds...OMO, of course.

They would claim crime was up by counting all the justifiable SD shootings as crime
