    This Grandma is now official!

Texas finally got its rear in gear (142 days, by my count), and I now have my plastic!
Will probably do the Wally Walk this weekend, and I'm sure to feel weird the whole time.

I'm torn between being deliriously happy and scared spitless that I'll foul up somehow. I'm no cowgirl, nor am I much of a sheepdog - except when it comes to my family.

    Wish me well!

Congrats. You will feel weird, but you will get over it soon enough.

That's great! Feels like everyone is watching you for awhile - then in time you realize that everyone's just like you (or like you used to be) and not really paying attention or wondering if you have a gun.
I don't really think about it anymore - now it's so normal to me - like putting my watch on - billfold in pocket - gun in holster or pocket.....

Welcome to the fold. It will take a little time, but it will eventually become natural to carry. As long as you keep it concealed no one will know or care that your armed.

Its a strange feeling at first with your EDC on you. After some time you will have that same "strange" feeling when you are without your EDC. Congrats and be safe!

    Congratulations!

No worries, you'll do just fine.

142 days is a long wait. Congratulations to you but shame on your Sheriff (or issuing agency in TX - in NC it's the county Sheriff) for taking so long. A lot of bad things can happen to someone in 142 days.

During your training class, did they teach you the "Secret CHL Handshake"??

Since no one asked, what did you decide on for the carry weapon?
You can never have "too much" ammo...

    First off , congrats!

Your scared of not messing up.....That's good! You will be watching yourself and paying attention AND you are aware of your limitations.
That is nothing but caring and being responsible!

Always continue to learn and be careful, just don't be scared. Nobody wants you to be a 'cowgirl'. Don't even try to be a sheepdog.....you be you and never show your 'teeth' unless you have to. I believe your going to do real good!

    Again, congratulations!
