Florida FDLE states that when off duty and out of uniform if an office chooses to carry a pistol that officer should keep his pistol concealed. However, you have detective whose uniform is plain clothing, and others who choose to wear their badge next to their holster, and not conceal it.
I’m no longer an LEO or Fed but I learned a long time ago, that those who just tuck a pistol in there belt with no holster are usually carrying illegally. And those with a holster and try to keep it concealed are usually legal. Exception with those carrying on their hip with a badge next to it.
Oh… thanks for relaying, and I am sure he learned something from the experience

I found me a new CCW badge. It must be OK, heck the state police hand them out like candy!
