    Talking Concealed Carry Primate

My North Carolina CHL was approved and I picked it up yesterday at the Sheriff's office - exactly 21 days from the time I turned in my application. Thank you Sheriff Donnie Harrison. You are indeed "the man", and a total professional, especially considering the sharp increase in CHL applications being made right now.

I'm off to Wally World to do my walk and pick up some ammo. Today is also my 9th wedding anniversary and my wife has been supportive of me getting my CHL since I first showed interest in it. More proof that I married well.

    Congratulations Neighbor!
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

No I only have a .40 right now. Maybe Santa will conceal a G19 in my stocking this year.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations.

The Wally World walk was uneventful. I took a good long walk too - looked at CDs, DVDs and some other stuff before picking up the essential ammo. The only weirdness was self-generated. When the girl behind the counter near the ammo asked me if I needed ammunition it struck me funny and I had to resist the temptation to laugh. "Why no ma'am. I think the 33 rounds I'm carrying is enough." is what went through my head.

I went about my business the rest of the day armed - my XD(M) in a Blackhawk Serpa underneath an oversized zip-up hoodie - with no one the wiser. The grocery store, the gas station which included a jaunt near a deputy sheriff and even an HOA meeting - all went well.

    Congratulations….

If you new to CCL, I’d recommend searching some of the forum for how to carry and holster recommendations.

A good quality holster makes all the difference I the world.
