MULTI CHOICE POLL: How large is the concealed carry populaion

Farronwolf has a thread with the title Fever is Catching. It made me think this is a good topic for a poll. Just how many of us are there. Of the 8 I know I'm the only one who post here. Of course there are stats available but they lag and do not capture the applicants that have not actually submitted. Including yourself select the number of people in your circle of acquaintances and colleagues that either are permitted to conceal carry or are actively pursuing or have submitted their application.Multi choice permitted For those of you who live where no permit or license is required, I dunno...I guess if the number people that you know that actually carry and the number is within the poll vote away...then pick the last button.

Unfortunately, I do not talk about it with anyone. The stats I saw for my county in CA was less than 1% of the population have permits - that's HAVE permits, does not mean they carry, and that is in a county where if one asks for a CCW there is a very good chance the answer will be yes.

I know a few people that have their license already, and know a few people that are in the process or considering getting their license.

Pardon my ignorance please. When you are issued a permit by a county in Cali. does that limit you to just the issuing/endorsing county(ies) or is the state your oyster?

we can open carry here without a permit, but I know of only 1 other person that has a CCW in my circle

in minnesota when you get a permit it is a carry permit - gives the choice to open or conceal carry.
that said, there are over 54,000 permit holders in the state but i do not know a local who ccw. guess that is the definition of concealed.

Utah recognizes a California permit.

I voted for 10-15 people I know with a CCW.

IMMEDIATELY after hitting the vote button, I thought of at least 15 MORE people I know who carry concealed. Hey, there's lots of us out there!

UTAHRSO thats when you need one of Bumpers duplicate accounts. Yeah and while you were doing that I was whipping up a little math (thanks to excel).

Honorable mentions go to Georgia and New Hampshire. These are "old wave" Shall Issue states--IOW, pre Florida. Because issuance is scattered among many local agencies, no one in either Georgia or New Hampshire is collecting statewide numbers on how many folks are packing. Seems reasonable to place 'em somewhere between the two statistical extremes among the other "old wave" states (South and North Dakota). However, if I were a bettin' man I'd put 'em near the top, and probably above Washington.

Average per respondents 6.9 still, so I opened up one more decimal so the first read was 6.89 to 6.93 on this one.

i know a few that do carry now and also a few that are in the process
of applying and/or taking classes. the more, the merrier. :danceban:

I only know of a handful, other than you all :smile:, but I'm sure I have come across many that were good at concealment.
