Screwed up/ was made
Well I guess it's time to look for a better cover shirt, I was at our local grocery store in the sporting goods section when IT happened. As I said here I was shopping for more ammo, as I was reaching to the back of the top shelf for hte last couple of boxes of ammo my shirt rode up allowing all to see my handgun!!
There just happened to be an off duty deputy there who witnessed it, after I put my ammo in the shoping basket he asked if I had my CCW to which I replyed yes. He asked to see it telling me he has taken 3 guns from people who were carring without their permit on them. All in all I guess it was a pretty good reminder to always make sure that it is well concealed and can not be seen when reaching up for something.
Luke 22:36 Jesus says that if his disciples do not have a sword, they should sell their cloak and buy a sword.

I guess I'm still paranoid about it, but I'm constantly checking to be sure my weapon is covered, even though I live in an "open carry state".

Your grocery store sells ammo? No more Arkansas jokes from me! Maybe time to think about relocating.

Sounds like a Walmart super center, but if its not, there aer lots of little stores and gas stations that sell ammo.

When i use to have my CCL, I was always checking too. Even 2 years later was still checking it, make sure it's well concealed.

How did you know the guy was an off duty deputy? Why is it his business to take firearms off people without permits? What happens to the confiscated firearms? This just seems like a scam.

There's a convenience store near my daughters house that sells not only ammo but sells guns too.
Keeping your gun concealed is an "art", and we all are subject to slip up every once in a while.

I still check my cover garment all the time. The "Picard" maneuver is well ingrained in my thick skull.
So far the only time I've found myself uncovered is during a transfer. I work with people who have disabilities, and the one that needs transferring knows I carry (close friend).

Was the guy still in uniform? I wouldn't be handing my gun over to somebody who wasn't in uniform. Thankfully in VA we can open carry so it's not as big of a deal.

I would like to hope that anyone handing over their firearm would check for credentials and get a receipt. Some states require the CHL, LTCF, insert TLA for carry permit here_____ to keep the card on their person while carrying concealed. If they do not have their permit on their person while concealing, they may be in violation of the law.

I dont think I'd be bothering people if I were off duty. The last thing I'd want is to deal with some dude and his pistol provided he wasnt doing anything horrid with it. If I end up at the grocery store on my day off, I just want to get my stuff and get out of Dodge.
