For my fellow Texans... What non-res permits from other states have you found most useful in rounding out your carry privleges nationally and what does it take to get them?

Can't help much here, I only have a Tx CHL and never felt the need to get any others. I don't travel out of state much and the places I do go are covered by my CHL. Maybe others can help.

Same here, but I was hoping for some insights from anyone in Texas who has a CHL from another state...

From looking at the map on handgunlaws.us, you only gain a bit from another permit. If you get a FL nonres you can carry in Ohio, WV and Nevada. Depending on your travels this may or may not help.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Don't believe W.va will recognize a chl that is held by a non-resident of a reciprocal state.
^ yep your right, different color on the map, residents only in WV.

I find that most people get a Florida or Utah license to go with their Texas license. I got a Utah CFP because it allows me to carry in Washington, which Florida does not.
Texas pretty much allows me to carry almost everywhere I need to,now If I went to vegas much that would be what I would get a utah or florida for

There are many post that deal with this already on DC. I have many Non-res permits FL,UT,CT,PA,NH,Maine, and Nassau County (Long Island)
I know there's plenty of posts on non-res in general. I was just seeing if some fellow Texans had found any that were exceedingly useful. Looks like I only gain 2 or 3 states with Utah or Florida - so no big deal really... which was the info I needed. Thanks guys!
