With shooting like that, I would be comfortable knowing she could take care of herself.

Ok, get ready... your .40 will soon become her .40. But I am sure you would have it no other way.

Nice shooting...nothing better than an armed couple.
    It's a great time together.

Congrats on taking her to the range...I assume she's getting her permit? Is she willing to carry? (I know, one step at a time...but looks like a great start.)

    Stay armed...as a couple...stay safe!

The real funny thing is when I asked her what she thought her response was "Eh, it was fine. I could take it or leave it."
Try to find an IDPA event and encourage her to participate. Women love to compete, especially against other women. She will be hooked just like my wife.

She is getting her CHL, but is not sure she will carry everywhere. She has told me that she will carry from home to the car, to her work and back to the car and back to home. I'm not going to push the issue.

I have also started working on her SA and thought process.

We went to the movies after lunch today and as we walked up, after purchasing tickets, I spotted the dreaded 30.06 signs required to be posted in TX. So after I returned from becoming unable to adequately defend myself and her I asked her if she knew what that sign really means.

Her answer almost brought a tear to my eye, "Yes, it means only criminals are armed in here." I then asked her what that meant in general and she replied "easy target."

It is working, slowly but surely, for someone who has never paid that much attention to her own surroundings and is self admittedly naive.

    Thumb

That's how I learned how to hold my thumbs right - nothing like a "Glock bite" to get your hands in the right place. After that I have never had trouble with where my thumbs are at and as a result not only bleed less but shoot better.

Better than the first time I took my now ex-wife shooting. Her first shot with a 9mm, she blew a big light out of the indoor range. She grew up shooting 12gauges, but the 9mm was to much, LOL.

Way to go Carisa! Paco, I'm glad it went well.

Just don't torque that lady off. She could definitely leave a mark.

I was a bit nervous when I handed her a loaded weapon, last Thursday in out Taekwondo class we were paired up to spar for 2 minutes and I wound up hitting her square in the nose

Good thing she is comfortable with me sparring with her and I was pulling punches.

Man, that is the truth. I used to have an XD .40 sub compact. Now, my wife has an XD .40 Sub Compact.
