Congrats...on the class to get your CCW permit...you obviously are a little wiser now.

Well, you sound awfully excited. You should be! I'm just wondering what you were more excited about...your certificate, or that half of the class were women? It's okay...you don't have to explain here.

    Congratulations by the way! ;)

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. How long will it take to get your license?

Nice. We had 42 students. It was 8 hours long. It's going to take up to 3 months to get the permit in hand after all background checks. I wonder how long it's going to take you?

Good job, Krockett. I'm from Massachusetts. Spread the word to everyone you know in that state to do the same. Welcome to DC

I was excited it was half women... but I was one of the women... Gun related things tend to be dominated by men, and that makes me hesitate to ask "dumb" questions... so I appreciated having others that were less intimidating in my class!!

    WTG Krockett!!!

Now while you're waiting for your permit, you NEED to update your wardrobe!! Such things as your CC, holsters mag carriers, etc. Then on to your accessories...ammo, extra mags, did I mention ammo?...LOL
    Congrats and stay safe!!

Can't help replying here My wife and I took our class last Sat. There were 60 in the class; about a dozen women. In spite of the size the instructor, a criminal attorney, who has represented a lot of CC clients following a shooting, made it very entertaining and informative. Here's the brag; my wife had the second best qualifying target in the entire class. 10 rounds in the 10 ring, five from 15 ft. and five from 30 ft. She only missed one question on the written test also. Only one other attendee beat her at the shooting test. He had all 10 rounds in the little tiny circle inside the 10 ring and he got 100% on the written test. That's why I'm still sleeping on the couch. Seriously, she wouldn't have been so mad if I hadn't wandered around asking everyone if they'd like to see my target We mailed our applications in today and were told it should take no more than a week to get our permits. OK, after all that bragging, I know that when under an adrenalin shock I'd be lucky to hit center mass. I had that happen once while hiking. My Labrador and I stumbled across a very large, 6ft.+ rattlesnake. My dog started to go for it and it coiled to strike. Luckily, she stopped a few feet short when I yelled at her; thus the adrenalin overload I experienced. It took me three shots with a little Beretta .22 Bobcat to hit the snake in the head from about 7 feet and I only managed that by resting my hand on my hiking staff because my hands were shaking so hard..... Just thought I'd share. Best Wishes to all.

    Congratulations!

It's a great feeling so hurry up and get the paper work in so you can get ready for the waiting game. Hopefully, it does not take too long to receive your permit in your state.

Glad to hear half the class were women!!
