The Colorado Springs Gazette is a great paper in most regards. The Sheriff in that County is also very Pro-RKBA and CHL.
I think Assam is at peace with herself and sleeps well based on a recent TV interview.
"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
WOW.... great article. Hard to argue with that one.
That author deserves a raise! And Jeane deserves a medal. I used that story in a speech class last year as an example of why CCW should be allowed on campus. The contrast with Virginia Tech is staggering. At VT one psycho killed 32 people because no one could fight back; at Colorado Springs hundreds were saved because Jeane Assam did. It seemed to get through to some people too.
