    Homeowners Association Meetings CWP Florida

Can you legally carry in the state of Florida at a homeowners or condo association meeting? I can't find anything that is clear on the law.

Those associations are NOT governmental bodies, rather they are PRIVATE groups, and therefore there is no prohibition on carriage,

So the special district part doesn't apply?

any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district
any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof

Sounds like it's referring to any public, government regulated 'district'. HOA's are private entities.

Yes, you can carry. There is nothing in the statute that makes those meetings a prohibited place of carry.

It does not say in the law you can't carry but make sure that wherever the meeting is held, you can carry. My association carries its meeting at the local high school so I haven't been to a meeting forever.

As long as it's not in a "no-go" location you're good to go

My mom lived in FL where they had HOA meetings and it never was an issue. Of course my Uncle was the President, a retired NYC detective.
I would not have told him. Better not to tell.
I carry at my HOA meetings in SC and no one knows.

I carry at every meeting. And about 5 others do as well. The way our meetings get and our association is run...it might come in handy one day...

Unless they are having it at a school or other place we are restricted, I would.

However, if your prone to get mad, furious, livid, or irate at these types of meetings I would advise against it.

That is good advice. I am the president of my Homeowners Association, and always carry to our meetings, held in our managers office. Having the gun on me actually helps me to keep my cool.

But, each of us need to know ourselves and act accordingly.
