One step closer...
...to CCW in New York State.
I just got back from Defensive Firearms 101. We have a new judge who is doing the permit approvals. If you take this 13 hour course, and you write a reasonable letter, there's a good chance you'll be approved.
I'll be crafting my letter this weekend and delivering it Monday morning.
Wish me luck.

Go get that permit...and the best of luck to ya'...
(even though luck should have nothing to do with it)

Good luck with your letter and permit request. Be persistent and you'll persevere.

I hope you'll be one of the fortunate few in this state that get to exercise the right to full carry and no stuck with always going to and from the range.

Nope, no carry allowed in the PRN (People's Republic of NYC).

You have to apply for a permit in the county in which you live.

Judge Matthews wouldn't even issue carry permits to off duty police officers.

The fact off-duty LEOs need a permit in NY is baffling...goes to show how poor judgment this judge really had.
