    Office party last night

So last night we went to my wife's office holiday party. She used to look at me sideways sometimes about going armed everywhere. Last night as she was helping me dress she said my jacket was hanging up on my pistol. So I swapped out my P228 with Houges on it for my P225 with the factory plastic grips. Wife says the jacket looks much better and we head off to the party.

After the party we are driving home and she tells me that she thinks her H.R. lady was packing! I asked her why and she said when she hugged her hello she felt something vaguely familiar under her jacket!

Maybe your wife will soon catch on (I'm assuming she doesn't.).
I have noticed many more friends and neighbors (I've given up on the relatives.)...catching on to the idea of SD.

It took my wife a loooooooooooooooooooong time to get used to the idea of me being armed everywhere. Now she considered it a part of me...either sitting in the living room, out and about...even at church.

Stay armed...help arm those around you...stay safe!

That's great. Maybe if your wife wanted to carry at work she would be able to in light of the fact that the HR rep does already.

I'm kinda lucky I guess, I started carrying shortly after we were married, so my wife has always been ok with it. She has even asked when we would leave before to make sure I was armed. Yeah, she's great, and she carries too now............

If HR rep's are pack'in, I guess you got the answer to whether it's ok to carry at work!!

Would it be appropriate for you to give the H.R. lady a big ol' hug the next time you see her? Who knows... after some conversation, ya might get a new range buddy!

Oh, and of course invite the wife.

Yet the only thing I could think about your experience is: glad "hugging" co-workers is NOT appropriate behavior where I work.

It does sound strange for an HR director to be carrying. What’s her company policy regarding carrying?

Don't know about the policy. Wife actually started to work there that day! She was shown to her desk and told they were having the holiday party that night and that we were both invited! The party was off site at a nice restaurant so I don't know if they would consider their office policy enforceable there. They might not even really have a policy since this is a local office of a Canadian based company. Up in the Great White North with carry so rare (as far as I know) they might not even think they need to address the issue.

I would not think that even if they do have a company policy against firearms, that they could enforce it at a restaurant.

Considering they are from Canada, I would guess they DO NOT have a policy, stating ether way

Why? Maybe they got a major round of layoffs coming up? ;-)
