Crime by CCL Holders...
Does anyone know if there is a statistic that shows the number of crimes committed by people with/while CC'ing? Antis and Pros always throw statistics around proving this or that, but to me an interesting fact would be how many crimes are committed by us so to speak.

Good question! I'd be interested in seeing the numbers also.

I googled concealed handgun license arrests for Texas and got tons of statistics at this site.

Bet you can get it for your state too.

You do the math
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

FDLE Crime Data & Statistics
And I am NOT doing the math!
I did what you want to do some 5 years back. IIRC the average non-gun owner in Florida was 5 times more likely to commit a felony than a CCWer but I can't find the math I did.

Miggy According to those stats a whopping .26% of carry holders have committed an offense worthy for their license to be revoked.

Sorry folks... Miggy deleted the post. FWIW, its not illegal to carry a firearm loaded in your vehicle in SC. It just has to be in the right spot according to the law.
Sorry if that confused anyone. No, I dont carry illegally.

Actually, maybe you should deduct those cases where the license was reinstated? In that case, you're looking at under a quarter of a percent! That's not felonies either, many I'll bet are very "minor" crimes. I'll bet alcohol related driving offenses are a substantial number.

You may find this Wikipedia article very interesting - especially the negative correlation between concealed carry laws and crime rates about half-way down. If the political class could only read!

I bet if we increase the background checks and training and become very picky about who can get a CHL then this number will drop even more!
Be very careful when you present this information.....
