The wait is on
Today I applied for my CHL here in Ohio. By law the Sheriff has 45 days to decide, on day 46 he MUST issue. I will pass the background check, so not worried there. The deputy that handles the CHL's there said average turn around is 2 weeks, he said he has never seen one taking longer than 3 weeks, I sure hope I am not the test case of that one.
Now, when I get my income tax refund (gotta file first) I can get my gun out of layaway.

Until I can get my gun out, I am not going to sweat it. The CHL is no good without having something to carry.

Congrats on your app. Good luck, hope it comes in soon for you.
PS, if your getting $$$ back you're giving the Gov. too much in the 1st place.

I made 20k last year, between earned income tax and child tax credits, I get money no matter what I paid in. I love the irony of it, using the goverments money to buy my gun.

Nice, then you must make it a black evil gun if it's on the Gov. dime!
Hey, wait a minute that's my dime, dibs on the range time.

Congrats on getting your application started. Hopefully your wait on both the CHP and tax refund will both be short.

Good luck, I have been waiting... 35 days and counting. It was promised I would have it in hand in 30....:) Its evidently one of those hurry up and wait things!

consider yourself lucky. Here in FL it seems they're exercising the use of all 90 days. I've heard of people taking up to and over 120. We dont have a must-issue timeline here. I'm on days 40 and expect another 50, at least. My check hasn't even cleared yet.

Congratulations!
If you live on the eastern side of Ohio I would definitely think about picking up PA's non res license as we still don't have reciprocity with them. It, along with your OH card, will cover you in all but a few states. Colorado being the only one that I wish we could pick up.
If you aren't close to PA (you have to pick up the license personally) Consider FL as I believe the entire process can handled by correspondence.
BTW Good choice on the M&P9c. Your going to be very happy with it.
