well basically i am home and dry i just need to do some administrative stuff before they actually hand me the permit
Congrats decided on what to put on permit yet for carry guns?
Well good luck from what I read there is nowhere anyone in California can really use their CCW Weapon. let alone carry it anywhere other then in their backyard.
Then if they really do even draw it their in for going to Court if anyone cries about it.
California being so Ant-Firearm I would not wish to chance a CCW in that pink State.
Way to go! The only one I know in CA with a permit used to work for a state Rep. Wonder if she still has it?

How many States require you to submit you'r carry weapon for inspection? And are you limited to this one only weapon for carry?
Congratulations! Great news.

Michigan has a pseudo-registration of handguns termed a "safety inspection" that must be done on handguns when purchased by residents. Thank the scumbag, idiotic, arrogant, good for nothing, unorganized, childish, crotch stain of America commonly known as the KKK for that one. Freaking idiots. We are not limited to any amount of guns. Each handgun has its own inspection card.
We can carry as many pistols as we want.

Probably the only home based FFL that doesn't do transfers.
It would depend on the county issuing the permit, as they may impose additional restricitons. However, CA actually has one of the least restrictive permits around, last I checked.from what I read there is nowhere anyone in California can really use their CCW Weapon. let alone carry it anywhere other then in their backyard.

Congratulations CNC, good news to be sure!
As far as the safety inspection, I know at least MY course instructor did a cursory weapons and ammo inspection before we entered the range. He was just making sure everyone was using a safe weapon and said as much (i.e. no 300 year old, rust-caked relics & such). No limit here on the number or type of handguns we're allowed to carry - as long as they're HANDguns. Heck, there were people qualifying with range rentals, and every caliber from 22lr to .45LC.
all they do is make sure the oem safetys are working and that it has a 5# triger pull or more they just make sure it is a safe weapon for carry. some of you guys freak out about stuff like that i personally dont think it is that big of a deal. the only thing i dont like about it is i have to take time of from work to go get it done but thats what vacation time is for.
If you use a simi auto during the CCW test you can carry both a revolver or simi auto.
But if you use a revolver during the CCW test you'r stuck with only being allowed to carry the revolver.
Every State add their own little twists.
No such trigger weight or "Revolver Only" deal here with regard to the permits. However, those of us who qualified with DA or SA/DA revolvers were required to fire all shots in DA mode ... sorta funny since I was using my 642, what other choice did I have? LOL
But I'm allowed to carry any weapon I now own or should buy in the future whether it's revolver or semi auto.
