Traveling through WV and Virginia tonight, need answers!
Hey all,
I have been searching and cannot come up with an answer. If in WV or Virginia do I have to discuss my CC status if approached by LEO? I know that in NC you do. I will be staying in PA for a few days. Anything keeping me from open carry?
Thanks!

PA and VA are OC friendly, no duty to disclose to LEO in either, as for WV... I don't know.
Check Handgunlaw.us
You have a SC Permit, correct?

As VA and SC now have reciprocity you are good to go here. In VA you are not required to notify police if CC, also VA is an open carry state. If you stop at a restaurant with a ABC license for on site consumption you must OC there while dinning.
Good luck on your trip.

Rather than try to remember what state requires what kind of notification, I have decided to make it SOP to notify on any traffic stop where I am asked for ID. If the LEO doesn't need the info - no big deal. But if I am supposed to notify and don't - ru row.

So far as I know WV doesn't require notification. Were I you I would spend a bit of time with the handgunlaw.us website to be sure. I tend not to take advice from the Internet on things that might land me in jail. Especially one far from home. With that said good luck and safe travels.

You do not have to notify in WV according to the law.

You mentioned staying in PA and traveling thru VA and WV to get there. Will you be passing thru MD? If so, be sure to unload and secure the weapon before crossing into MD. MD does not recognize CCW permits.

Huh...thought I posted this earlier today, but it's not here: PA and SC don't recognize each other's permits, so you can't CC in PA unless you have another state's permit, such as FL or UT. You can however transport a firearm in your car on your SC CCW while in PA and you can OC (except in Philly) without any permit.

Reason: Added FL/UT caveat
Clinging to guns and God in PA...

Carry Concealed has a trip planner that is helpful for recognizing reciprocity.
With your SC permit, a very cheap NH non-resident permit will get you PA as well as GA, AL and MS. Maybe some others to, I don't recall.

Thanks everyone for the help! The trip was fun and I didn't run into any problems, and had my first experience open carrying, which was in Pennsylvania...I'll post about that in the OC section. Again, thanks!
