    I often carry my PT 140 the same way, have for years. It holds it better than a shoulder holster (my coats anyway), closer to the body and is very secure. As someone else said though either way you era committed to keeping the coat on.

    keeping the coat on isn't a big deal. usually when i do this, it's because i'm heading to get some groceries or walking around town...things i'm not likely to take it off for during the winter. I certainly wouldn't do this if i were planning to go to a friends house or something like that.

    If I am going where I may be taking my coat off it is in my IWB at 4 o-clock. I have two winter coats with a zipper on the upper left breast area that works perfect. The first one was not bought with this in mind but the second was. Both zippers are on the outside and access is easy and no printing issues.

    nothing wrong with using a coat pocket. been there, done that, got the free t-shirt.
