Damn! Got made at work today...
It is obviously something I am embarrassed about since I always try to be very careful. I work in an office with a lot of people and one of my coworkers patted me in the back yesterday and touched the grip of my G30SF several times.
I tried to distract him with my cell, which was close hanging on the belt to cover the bulge in the waistline. The idea was to confuse him and make him think it was my cell that he felt. I was wearing an untucked shirt at the time. He said nothing, I said nothing and off we went.
Today he comes to the office and asks me close to other people: So, are you carrying a piece there?
I took him to one side and said, no, it is my pager. He said: I was in the Israeli army and I know a gun when I touch it. I had to come clean and tell him he was not to discuss that with anyone at all. He told me he understood and that he has other friends that carry but he thought they were paranoid.
We chatted about it a bit and he said going to the range is fun so I invited him to the range. At the end of the day I think things went OK and I might get a range buddy.... The problem is that the owner of the company thinks having guns is crazy!!! Hope this guy keeps his word and his mouth shut...

Glad it turned out OK. Hopefully it stops with a new range buddy and no other fall out.

Tell him you were Russian Spetznas and if he tells you'll do a backflip hatchet attack on him! jk...
Sometimes people find out, and hopefully when they do, it's not the wrong people. Sounds like he probably wouldn't be one of the ones to go around opening his mouth about it though. I'd expect it from an anti, but not another gun owner, even if they don't choose to carry.

It happens, sometimes there is nothing you can do about it, as in your case. Hope he keeps his pie hole shut.

He said: I was in the Israeli army and I know a gun when I touch it.
Then he should know to keep his comments to himself. If he feels the need to honestly know, asking in front of people is NOT the way to do it.
Things happen, don't fret as he seems OK with your carrying and won't squeal on you.

When someone in the office environment begins to get "too" close to me I just say "you don't know me well enough for that". Generally embarrasses the offender and they back off. Don't forget to claim your "personal space" in the future to keep colleagues back the requisite distance.

Sometimes it just happens. I was getting my hair cut the other day and as I stood she kept sweeping the hair off my back and she hit the butt of my Glock hard, I turned around and she just smiled. She has cut my hair for 14 years and is a good friend, but I still don't like folks to know!! You can do everything right and there will still be those times.

I've had people bump their hand on my gun before, but none really realized what it was. This is the first to say "I know it's a gun". I live in Miami and everybody hugs or pats you, I always put my right arm over the gun... I have found this to be the best to cover the weapon.
I'll have to be more careful...

Protecting personal space is very important but not always possible. When the huggie feelie types are near, I blade into them and keep strong arm down against my weapon.
