The Desert Eagle .50 serves exactly 2 purposes:
1. Giving gangsta wannabes a stiffy; and
2. Filling out a collector's library.
Becuase of its cumbersome size/weight and difficulty in handling and firing accurately or with any speed on target (yes, I have fired one), it is virtually worthless as an actual weapon.
And I thought that carrying my G21SF was as close as I could get to CCWing and RPG
Conceal a Desert Eagle? 50AE I suppose? Sure.....why not.....vertical shoulder holster under a vest.
I have in the past at times carried concealed in my shoulder holster my S & W model 29 with it's 83/8 " bbl with no problems as I am largely built so it conceals well on me with no discompfort at all, but it's been years since iv'e carried that way any more
I'm not very big, so there's no way I could pull it off. I'd also worry that, in the event you have to defend yourself, you would end up with a overzealous prosecutor that would make a great deal out of the fact that you carried a 50cal (GASP!) pistol.
Those are only meant for disabling armored vehicles, after all!

I am sorry, but in my opinion the carry of a DE 50 is hunting, not self defense. With that being said, carry what you want.

An ounce of lead is worth 200lbs of cop.
Nope, too heavy awkward and over powered for defensive use. I carry my USP full size in winter , but thats as big as I am willing to carry.

Guys, you are missing his point! Didn't you read the last line? We need to give him some support. Tell your GF that:
1)You have an obsessive compulsive disorder and everything has to be in even increments of 50. Having a 45 would just make you have a break down.
2)You swear you have seen bigfoot roaming the city.
3)Size matters.
The way I see it, anyone one of those should be enough to convince her.
What ta heck you going to do with those hand cannons ? Better hit target first
shot due to excessive recoil. My choice is one of those ruger Alaskan 454 snubnose that you can shoot 45 colt out of when you get tired of shooting 454.
Why not carry a 50GI chambered 1911 or a 10MM Delta Elite or Glock?
The D.Eagle is for gamers and Hollyweird gangstas.

I.m sorry z , I had a D/E 50, scoped out for hog hunting and it totaly SUCKED! Apart from the fact that it weighed as much as an anchor and the force of the cycling of the action distroy any red dot or aim point optics, it was very uncomfortable to holster and a pain to field strip, I sold mine after 2 hunts and got me ruger super redhawk 7 1/2 inch barrel with a red dot scope and it beats the hell out of that P O S

I recently had the pleasure of shooting a .44Mag Desert Eagle. The thing was a tank and absorbed the recoil very well. If you could find a holster that would work, go for it if it floats your boat. My only negative observation was that the gun I shot was about 75% reliable. We had some issues with it.
