How weird is this?
So a few years ago, summer of 2007, after I bought my Sig but before my carry permit arrived, I was driving down the road heading home in the middle of a beautiful summer day. I was just driving along, watching the road, and on to my left I see a young kid jumping off a rock wall. Right after that, I hear a loud POP! Since I saw that kid, I assumed he had lit an M80 or something. No big deal, keep driving. A second later there is another POP! Its not the kid because its coming from right side of the road.
There is a building on the right of the road, where theater classes are taught. There on the lawn in front of the building is a bunch of the homemade, black painted theater furniture, and a guy with long hair, I'm guessing he works in that building.
So it looks like they've been clearing out old junk, like these blocky, uncomfortable black chairs and tables on the lawn.
I realize that the guy is holding a Beretta 92, he's facing the road, pointing at the lawn right in front of him. While I'm watching him, he shoots one more time. As I'm passing, he racks the slide, apparently it jammed. One more shot after I pass him, then its empty.
2:30 in the afternoon, middle of the summer, on the side of the road, people walking around within 50 feet. What the HELL?! >:(
I was unarmed, and quite honestly I just kept driving. I didn't stop, didn't start to wonder if I should do anything until about a block down the road. But I didn't hear any more shots and there was no commotion in the street in my rearview mirror. There was nothing on the news that night.
As a concealed carrier, what would you have done? What should I have done? If anything?
Isn't that bizarre?

You're driving down the road and you can tell someone is holding a Beretta 92??? Can I have your eyes :))
To answer your question...call 911 to report it.

Yep. Keep driving, get the heck out of there, and call the police. Guaranteed to win every gun fight you don't get in.

Could it not have been the blank-firing 8mm Beretta?

From what I recall, there is a version of the 92, or a model based off the 92, that fires 8mm blank rounds, and is practically indistinguishable from a 9mm 92 without close inspection.

I think there is a strong possibility that it was a prop gun or blanks given it was outside the theater building and there seemed to be alot of props around. No way that you could know really. Call the cops, that is their job.

I agree 1000% that the guy was a complete idiot whether real or not, I still believe its not the OPs responsibility to find out. Best course of action is still 911 in my opinion.

Isn't that bizarre?
No, it is not bizarre, THEATER REHEARSAL.
That's why no one was running and everyone was standing around.
