I was approved in 17 days from the day I applied in Knox County Ohio. The deputy said it would have only taken 24hrs but they had to fax a paper to my home county to have them do a local check (even though a state check is done, just incase something is pending) and it took my home county that long to get back to them. Did not use my home county because they have are known to be anti even though we are shall issue.

If loose gun laws are good for criminals why do criminals support gun control?
Is it a "working" permit, or does yours allow 24/7 carry?

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
The remote counties don't have it "in" for upstanding citizens, generally, and realize that having an armed populace in a county with less than 50 persons per square mile is a good thing.
California is a might-issue state, meaning it's under the jurisdiction of the county sheriff in which you reside to decide whether your cause is sufficient, for carry. Yes, a CA CHL means 24x7, except in some restricted areas (airport secure areas, schools, courthouse, and whatever else the sheriff decides to limit).
Had a CA CHL for many years, myself, though that was prior to the hard push for locked-up firearms, the war on gun shows, the punitive steps against ammo, and the other socialist, anti-victim steps its known for.

my CA permit took 59 days from turning in the app, to permit in mail box. This also included the time it took to schedule and take the safety class. I'm happy with that.![]()
When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
Wow, way to go on your CCW! Now if we could only get San Diego and LA County to be the same way. Unfortunately I don't see that changing anytime soon.

It's a standard permit with no restrictions, I did have to present the pistols for inspection of serial numbers and am limited to 3 at any one time. The application was 7 pages long, the interview (with a very nice county clerk) was 10 minutes. I'm just a regular Joe as far a "good cause" goes. I should of done this years ago. It was $155.00 and 2 hrs of my time once I did the independant training.
