I pocket carry my Seecamp with a good holster and can't imagine that I would ever have any problem at all. Unless the laws of gravity are violated I don't see how it could fall out.

Well, it's possible he had the gun in his back pocket where something butt heavy (like a 4" barrel) could easily fall out - and that, "my gentle snowflakes," brings us back to the gun owner being an idiot.
My question is: If ignorance of the law isn't a defense, then how come being a idiot isn't illegal?

I pocket carry because in the climate here that is about the only way to conceal. In a good pocket holster, and with a gun in proper working order, this is a perfectly OK way to carry.

If this were a major caliber I'd agree with you, but there are a lot of .22s out there that aren't drop safe.

Local TV station indicated he was arrested on unrelated charges so his kids are safe for a little while, from him.

Oh okay, he's a total wing nut. I've got this image now: Pants riding halfway down his butt, untied sneakers, baseball cap on sideways, possibly gold teefs ... sort like Jamie Kennedy in Malibu's Most Wanted. "Don't be hatin'!"

Pocket Carry . . . Good!
My EDC BUG: LCP with Crimson Trace LaserGuard in a Desantis Super Fly holster (without flap). In all but one pair of suit pants, there is room for the Surefire E2D LED Defender.

I won't go into my story but I will say this; I'd encourage us all not to use any pocket carry holster where the gun slips right out. I'm now convinced because of an event in my life that a pocket holster should have some retention from how tight the gun fits. It's no different than what we rely on with a good IWB holster that has no thumb strap. If the gun just slips in and out of a pocket hoster as slick as a baby's bottom (think Uncle Mike's pocket holster) then when ever your pocket is upside down, it can tend to "dump" the gun out. Most of the time your pocket holds the gun in, but in a tumble or sitting on a couch (believe it or not)
it can slip right out!
I'm not saying that's what happend here. In fact I would tend to think Dad is making up a story to cover himself but God knows. I just wanted to mention this because with any mode of carry there needs to be some degree of retention.
I once had a pocket leather holster for a P3AT made by a guy name Hedly. It was a tight fit and there was a place to "push off" with your thumb. It was perfect!! I believe other's have these features.
i've always wondered how slick a Nemisis holster is?
Anyway, just my .02...

I'm willing to bet he was fumbling in his pocket for candy or something and it ended up snatching the trigger. Maybe a p22?

That was my first thought as well.
