Carried my new XD45 today for the first time

Me, the missus and the kid went out to eat at the New China Buffet with my Mom and Dad. Then we rolled on over to Big Lots and did a little shopping. Finally made it over to WW, checked out a new flannel jacket (love those things), went to sporting goods and bought 243, 7mm-08 & 30-06 ammo. (They only had 9mm handgun ammo) Finished our shopping and out the door.

Carried in the holster that came with it. Functional, but gonna have to upgrade...

Way to go. I love my XD. I have one in .45 with the 5" barrel and carry in an IWB Minataur holster by Comp-Tac. I agree that the provided holster is better than nothing and very functional, but is not adequate to my carry needs either.

I'd love an XD .45 to pair with my 9mm, but think I'm gonna try a Kahr or Sig for my next pistol. I want something a little thinner and compact than my XD for different wardrobe options, otherwise I'd get the .45 compact.

Nice choice, hope it's a good shooter like most XDs seem to be out of the box.

Just got myself an XD .40 service model! I am looking forward to carrying it real soon after a good range work out.

Way to go on your XD 45!

Congrats on the XD45, a fine pistol indeed. There are tons of holsters available for them as well, so take your pick!

Here's my post with first impressions of Tim's work:

There are a lot of great options out there for you.

I also use a blackhawk cqc serpa holster frequently. The TT holster replaced a highnoon holster - which was also a fantastic holster but I wanted a matching IWB holster and mag carrier and highnoon wasn't accepting special requests at the time I ordered from Tim.
