I live in the eastern part of North Carolina, I turned in all pertinent information signed and notorized to my county Sherrif's Office on Feb. 13, 2009(Fri). I was wondering how long could I expect to wait to be approved. Anyone in eastern NC have any experience with this?

It is entirely dependant on what county you are in. Without knowing that, no one is going to be able to give you a specific answer. It won't be more than 90 days, it might be less, perhaps a lot less.

Cumberland County here, it took like 2 1/2 weeks before I could go pick it up.
But they did tell me 4 to 5 weeks originally. Hopefully yours doesn't take too long.

Depends what county, etc...I guess.
I teach the NC course, and I've had people tell me they get them as fast as 3 weeks, and some as long as 12 weeks.
I gave my next door neighbors the class in early January, and they already have their CCH Permits.

I had mine in about 2 weeks, but that was 14 years ago. My wife took the class last week and the instructor said permit requests are up as much as 500% in some counties. Be patient it will come!! We are going this week to do her fingerprinting and fill out background info. I hope it isn't long but it will be worth it!! Then both of us can carry.
