Could the message be that when someone applies for a permit, there's a probability of 1/3 that the applicant's spouse will be so upset that he or she will file for divorce? OK, probably not.

(Before I started carrying) When I left my husband, and filed for divorce, he brought a gun over to me so that I would be safer.

    Takes all kinds.

Nice. Did you get to keep it after the divorce?

I did keep it for a while, even after I got my own. When he found out I had my own, he asked for it back. (He had another; he wasn't defenseless.) I gave it back to him and thanked him for letting me borrow it.

    We're still friends.

Haven't had a headache since my divorce. Come to think of it, neither has my girl friend.

There are certain things that tend to lead to divorce - me thinks maybe you're less likely to do some of those if you know your partner is carrying and can shoot.

    Hmmm, there's a concept.
I wonder if it has ever been considered that excessive use of alcohol contributes to poor decision-making?

Well, probably not. Just was thinking...

Just the phrase "guns and alcohol" gives me the willies.
