    Gun registration and CC laws???

Just sitting here looking at my unregistered gun and realized that I didnt know what laws exist for an unregistered gun and CC. Say I am carrying an unregistered unit and have to shoot someone obviously the cops will take my gun when they show up and probably give it back after the figure out the situation and realize I wasnt in the wrong but will they confiscate it if its not registered?

Utah does not require any gun registration. Neither does the Federal Government. At least not yet.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

No gun registration requirements in Utah. If your talking a gun purchased in a private sale, as far as I know private sales are not required to be conducted through a FFL so no ATF 4473 needed.

(a little late, but joining in anyway)

What is this registration thing you are talking about? You mean the warranty registration with the manufacturer? I think they can just look up the manufacture date and you might be in luck if you need some work on it.

I didn't send in my warranty card on my TV either, I sure hope the police don't confiscate that thing if I was every the victim of a crime.

To be more serious: The "unregistered firearm" bull-puckey is from TV/movies. There are a few states that require registration, but I'm almost positive that the majority do not. Even California used to not require registration of privately sold firearms or firearms that you have brought into the state. (Used to, turns out that has changed since I left).

Only a few states actually require registering handguns.
The people that live there think that its a normal thing and they are registered everywhere...until they get on here and find out that it just aint so.

Throughout the years, we've actually had people arguing about it, that it was an offense to own guns that werent registered. It may have been were they were, but not so where I am at.

Those people then realize that they are in the minority and all of a sudden they start asking questions and not feeling so good about it.

The internet can be a good thing because the info is out there for all to see and for some people its really an eye opening event for them to realize that things are different everywhere and that the whole world is not like their own.

So If I was in Florida where I have my floida CCW and stae ID card. I walk into a pawn shop or see and ad in the paper or guy walking down the street. I see a glock for sale. Make the purchase and then I ship the gun to myself back in NY overnight air. How do I walk into police department to register the gun here? Walk in with hand written bill of sale? Here in Nasau County you must register all guns.
