I just found out I have to drive from Wichita KS to Lubbock TX on short notice. I looked at both state CCH websites, and think I'm up to speed.

Must inform PD both states.

No booze both states.

30.06 is official TX sign.

Usual govt building prohibitions.

Am I missing anything?

I don't think you're missing anything to speak of. It is worth pointing out that both states disallow open carry, so keep it concealed and try not to print too much. But, unless you are printing like crazy, I doubt anyone would give you trouble over it. Heck, I walked into Walmart once with my pistol uncovered for a few seconds before I realized it and hid it -- but no one noticed a thing, or if they did, said nothing. Well, around here there just aren't that many anti's that go off screaming at the sight of a gun...

Keep it hidden, don't do stupid stuff, you'll be OK.

I used to live in OK and got my first permit there. You actually can carry in Oklahoma where alcohol is served, as long as the primary business is the sales of food, and not the alcohol.

TITLE 21 § 1272.1. Carrying firearms where liquor is consumed
CARRYING FIREARMS WHERE LIQUOR IS CONSUMED
A. It shall be unlawful for any person to carry or possess any weapon
designated in Section 1272 of this title in any establishment where
low-point beer, as defined by Section 163.2 of Title 37 of the
Oklahoma Statutes, or alcoholic beverages, as defined by Section 506
of Title 37 of the Oklahoma Statutes, are consumed. This provision
shall not apply to a peace officer, as defined in Section 99 of this title,
or to private investigators with a firearms authorization when acting in
the scope and course of employment, and shall not apply to an owner or
proprietor of the establishment having a pistol, rifle, or shotgun on the
premises. Provided however, a person possessing a valid concealed
handgun license pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma
Self-Defense Act, Section 1290.1 et seq. of this title may carry the
concealed handgun into any restaurant or other establishment licensed
to dispense low-point beer or alcoholic beverages where the sale of
low-point beer or alcoholic beverages does not constitute the primary
purpose of the business.

I think you got it for the most part. You are not aloud to carry on schools or college. Watch for the signs when going into any building. They should be posted at all entrances. Have a good trip.

-no intoxication while carrying
-look for 30.06 signs or 51% signs on some bars/grills that sell a bunch of alcohol
concealed....always
-if licensed, must inform LEO when asked for ID
-no carry into school/college/education buildings, courthouses, jails/prisons (hopefully not going there)
-no restrictions on number of handguns on you
-no restrictions on long guns in vehicle, loaded or not
-fyi: blades no longer than 5 1/2" !!!!!

Yuppers, the 51% sign is any place that makes 51% proffit from alcohol = no carry. Also note that carry in car is ok with/without permit just NOT visible

I may hear it wrong but I have heard that the state is going to pass the bill that allowing CHL to carry into campus, school, college right now ?
