    Sign of the Times

I stopped at the County Clerks office today to check on the status of my permit and make sure the was no confusion with my address since I moved since applying. When she went to find my application she pull out a 16" high stack of applications to look through.

She said its been pretty busy, I'll say. Our application forms and accompanying paperwork is about 5 pages and our gun board meets once a month (2nd Tuesday). That is a lot of people considering my county only has a population of about 45,000.

No luck on mine though the background check isn't back. I hope it gets there before 10th.

They are swamped everywhere. In SC the law says 90 days from the receipt of the application yet SLED is getting em out in about 100-105 days because they are slammed.

Tomorrow is day 78 for me and 87 for the wife.

It seems CHL are as much in demand as fine holsters, and reliable guns plus some good HP ammo. I am trying to figure all this out - Yeah Right.

I think it will get no better for a long time. Maybe 4 or 8 years. NO not 8!!

I have two permits that are coming up for renewal this year, I think both FL and Utah are to be renewed.

    Regards,
    Jerry

Permit holders are too few to be a worthwhile voting block, but so many that their applications overwhelm the state.

Two years ago, renewals in FL took about 10 days, door to door, my wife's recent renewal will take closer to 90 days....

    I guess they ARE busy.

Surely the surge in gun/ammo sales and CCW permits is sending a very loud message to Washington DC.

I got mine this past summer and I can't tell you how glad I am.

    It only took 9 days.

I don't think so, but it would be nice.
