Finally got my CWP!
After 97 days of waiting, SLED finally got around to printing and mailing my permit, and it came in the mail last Wednesday.
Since I don't have any concealment holsters and concealing a P99 in a Blackhawk CQB would have been difficult, I slipped my S&W 642 into a pocket holster and immediately left for Walmart. I forgot the details of the ritual, but I stopped by the ammo counter (nothing there, of course) and picked up a 12 pack of diet coke. I left Walmart and actually went back to work for the rest of the day.
I felt completely comfortable and at ease ... didn't even feel like I was carrying. I figured it was because I was carrying in a jacket pocket and that carrying in a holster in public would be a little more noticeable, so I picked up an inexpensive nylon IWB holster to use until I figure out what I like.
Slipped the J-frame into the holster this evening and set out for Walmart once again. Again, barely even knew it was there. Still no ammo at Walmart, though.
I guess I figured I'd be looking in the mirror every few minutes and tugging at my shirt to make sure it was still concealed.

Congrat's on the arrival of your permit. I'm not surprised about the lack of ammo on you WWW all the same.

Congrats!
Now you must apply for the New Hampshire so you can visit in Georgia. I enjoy visiting Savannah from time to time and i have in-laws that live in Stateboro.

I already had the form downloaded and everything. Now that my permit is in hand, it'll be in the mail to NH tomorrow.
