Concealed carry at work?
I just read something about a 10th Circuit Court of Appeals decision that was just unanimously passed (February 18th) that now anyone with CCW can carry to work as long as it remains locked in their vehicle on company property. Anyone know any more about this?

It only applies in Oklahoma as far as I know.

Working on that with a House and Senate bill in Texas. I'm pretty sure it will pass and is definitely the right way to go. Now just get rid of all the stupid kill zones (restricted to all but criminals of course) like hospitals, colleges, liquor stores, etc and sanity will once again prevail in the land.

That particular ruling applies to Oklahoma, however, there was another ruling that applied to Florida. So far it looks like they will be ruling on these one at a time as they come up. Doesn't appear to be a blanket ruling.

First your state has to pass a law allowing it. Then if it is challenged in court you will need a favorable ruling in your case. Right now it only applies to Oklahoma.

Anything decided in a federal circuit is law for that circuit only. The supreme court rules for the country as a whole.

I guess that was a little too much to hope for that the courts had come up with a decision that applied to everyone. I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV either, obviously. I guess I'll just keep hoping!

I would like to know if anyone has definitive information on this issue regarding the State of Indiana. I have found it really difficult to find out exactly what is the law regarding carrying at work (locked in car).

As far as I know, there's no problem with leaving your gun locked in your car as long as you have a license to carry. I'm no law expert, but you can find a good summary of our state's gun laws here:

Don't know about your state, but Crist (FL gov) passed a law stating it was illegal for any employer to tell you that you can not carry a firearm in your vehicle at work.
