FL Strawberry Festival - Carried with NO issues
Went to the Strawberry Festival down here the other day. Its like a state fair in size and scope.
I saw the standard no offensive shirts, alcohol and of course firearms. Since the signage doesn't carry weight in FL, I proceeded to the front gate, past the deputy sheriff who was watching for bad guys. Even said a few words to him when he spoke to my 3 year old.
There were a LOT of LEOs at the festival. Even had one standing behind me while we were watching the BMX bikers put on thier show. That was the one place I thought I might be spotted and so I did not sit on the bleachers, but stood next to them. Turned around a minute or so later to find a deputy directly behind me. He was watching the show, and not me, so I just did the same. Never seen guys do tricks on bikes like that. Pretty amazing.
I suppose the point of the story is that IF the deputies noticed I was carrying, they didn't do or say anything...even though there were signs outside of each gate saying no firearms allowed.

the whole point of concealed carry is to not be seen. so why is that even a question?

Because, despite best efforts, trained eyes will make you, at least some of the time.

True, trained folks can make you. But, I think we worry too much about it.
Im not worried about a little printing here and there. In the case of a spot where there was a sign such as there was in this case, Id be a little more cautious about printing since the LEO's were there.
Generally, I cover it with a T-Shirt and act normal. No one really cares is what Ive found.

Went there several years ago. Carried as I usually do. No problems. Just could not leave until I had strawberry shortcake!
We the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible, for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now able to do anything with nothing.

I guess some of us are perfect and will never be detected. For the others including Me, A shirt will catch or bunch, the wind will blow, My demeanor may change. I may reach down to see if it has become exposed. I will also keep one side away from people more then other. I try my best to avoid these tell tale signs. And I think I am doing well. But to someone trained to spot them? Maybe, maybe not. It is a nice test to go mingle with them And not stand out. By the way, isn’t Florida Great! I didn’t make the fair, I went fishing and had a blast. Oh, and Welcome to the Forum.

Where can I find information to substantiate that statement?
Thanks!
