Living in SC considering getting FL or NH permit in addition

I've lived in South Carolina for just over a year and Travel back and forth between here and Florida quite often. I'm considering in addition to getting the SC CWP, also getting the Florida CWP. So that I can carry while going through GA. Then I read about the NH CWP for those who have their CWP already, is only $20 (just send a photo copy of your cwp) and that sure seems much easier than Florida's and the $114 for their license. It looks to me that the combination of the two licenses (NH and SC) will give me the same reciprocity of having (SC and FL). Can anyone tell me if there is a reason I should pick one over the other when it comes to FL vs NH and their Non Resident CWP.

I did the New Hampshire permit. It was quite easy & inexpensive & got me what I needed...the ability to travel to/thru GA & FL legally.

+1 for the NH permit. 4 years ago it took about a week. Now I understand there is about a 6 week wait. That has to tell you something.

After looking at the reciprocity map I would see no point in getting a FL permit if you live in SC. Unless you plan on going to NV or CO... otherwise NH picks up what you need.

Based on what I'd read over the last few weeks here, my plan has been to go the NH route once my CWP gets here. This continues to be a great source of info.

Without either the FL or NH permit I cannot carry while driving in the one state between us (GA)

I'm one of those that believes you can't have too many permits. If you haven't done so yet, go to Handgunlaw.us and build yourself a map in the "Create License Map" section. You can play with it until you get the coverage you want.
You should also give serious consideration to getting a Utah non-res permit because of it's wide acceptance.

Odd that GA does not honor SC permit.

Get a PA permit, it covers GA and only takes 2 weeks. I know, I got mine today.

$26.00 and good fo 5 years.

South Carolina now has reciprocity with Florida as of September 2008. NH is still good for Georgia though. South Carolina Law Enforcement Division

I was in the same pickle about 2 weeks ago, not sure which to do, but the NH just makes more sense. I can already carry in FL due to the reciprocity agreement, and the cost difference and ease of applying are a plus for the NH. I did it so I can carry in Georgia and PA.

One would think that a state that does NOT have mandatory training would honor those states that do require training... ie. states with lower requirements 'should' honor those with more stringent requirements than their own....
