    Non- Resident PA License

My non-resident PA license arrived this past weekend. It was a 3-part form, 3"x5.5" on lt. wt. paper. I signed it and kept the orginal and mailed copies back.

Will I receive a smaller and more durable card in the mail?

That's it. More like a receipt than a permit.

How long did it take, start to finish?

I mailed it from Virginia on 2/24 and received it Saturday 3/7.

If I laminate it, I'll need clip board to carry it around.

I folded it in half to make it smaller and laminated it. There is nothing on the back.

Surprisingly, each Sheriff makes his own rules. Some send you a large piece of paper that many photoreduce and laminate, some will send you a laminated one, some will charge extra.

Click on the county name to see what they offer. Centre is supposed to be one of the best responders to non-resident permit applications.

+1 on Centre County. An absolute pleasure to deal with.

    Thanks,
I clicked on their site and Centre County does not offer plastic, but you can shrink it down and laminate for carry.

I went to Staples today and had them shrink the PA paper permit to 2"x3.5" and laminate it, so now it fits nicely and my billfold.
