I found this site when trying to make sure that I could carry on the blue ridge parkway and was relieved to read this.
I also found this and was wondering if you could provide proof that I can carry.
Blue Ridge Parkway Regulations
I would hold off on the carry in the park. An injunction has been placed on the new law and is pending appeals.

I'm your worst nightmare, a liberal with a gun.
I'm confused.
Is it legal to drive the Parkway with a conceiled weapon?
I understand not entering the park, but what about just driving the road itself?
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
THat is going to depend upon who has jurisdiction on the roadway. If it winds in and out of National Park Service lands I wouldn't do it. The last I knew the Blue Ridge Parkway is all NPS and you might get into some trouble. I would call the park HQ and get the answer straight from the NPS LEO's.
To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless.

Agreed. I think the entire Parkway is under NPS jurisdiction...but don't quote me on that. I'll see if I can dig up the regs later this evening. They have to be posted somewhere.

"Sure, As long as the machines are workin' and you can call 911. But you take those things away, you throw people in the dark, and you scare the **** out of them; no more rules...You'll see how primitive they can get."
There are several highways that go through parkway property but do not enter the park unless you exit the highway. One is Rt.33, in order to enter the park you must exit the highway and approach a toll station. On Rt. 33 it is legal as long as you do not exit into the park. I was told this a few years ago by a Park Ranger for their Law Enforcement Division. Things may have changed but with the injunction right now I would go with the Ranger's recommendation, at least until the injunction has been settled.
