    Not All LEOs are supportive

I work with a young man who is just out of college. He has worked with us for about six months but is moving back to Jersey. He has a PA permit and was talking to a LEO back home in Jersey about getting a permit. The LEO responded, you don't want one. Just give the cops a call and let them handle it. To that I responded the line that has been posted here numerous times in the past: "When seconds count, a cop is minutes away".

Why would he want to go back to the Socialist State of New Jersey?

I'm glad I left and will NEVER go back!

I was lost yesterday in Trevose, PA, on US1 and I was extremely watchful of not crossing the Deleware because I knew NJ was near

We were supposed to be retired and moving from NJ back to America by now, but thanks to the financial flop, it'll be another year at least. There are no gun carry premits in NJ, except for the well-connected. When we do travel out of NewJerseystan, it;'s reassuring to 'accessorize' and take my FL and UT permits with me.

Yeah, I have the same problem. Our corporate office is in Bristol and I get off the last exit on the TP. If I fall asleep on the way down and miss my exit I'm in Joisey. I'm in deep dodo because I usually carry.

We have one here .... who amazed me when he said "I will shoot anyone I see with a gun ". It was clear in further conversation, he was quite serious... he wasn't waiting to find out if they were legally carrying or not. He has that much fear of people with guns.

I suggested to him that he find a new line of work. His partner, (after having a nice long talk with hiim) reported it all in a nice talk with the Chief.

I did remind the guy, 1) it's legal to even open carry on our property, 2) it would be stupid to shoot someone who is not threatening nor endangering anyone, 3) conceal carry is legal... 4) would he also shoot any DEA, SS, undercover LEO , etc. as well.. ... since he would have no clue who they were ....

he just kept saying, "if I see someone with a gun, I'll shoot them".

I told him I would be carrying, so don't shoot me... OK ?

He told me if he saw me "carrying" a concealed gun, he would shoot me.

I hope these are the very very very few.... and I'm sure they are... but I know I don't want to run into the one... and dang if I don't have one right here in our town & my backyard. I don't think he'll be on the force for long.

This guy is an idiot. He needs a new line of work where his lack of brain capacity won't slow down his effectiveness (Congress comes to mind, but I digress).

How did an imbecile like that make it on the force in the first place?

He freely states he plans to murder someone who is not committing a crime, and they keep him on the force?

If this guy is ever involved in a shooting, and I had heard what you heard, I would consider testifying against the "officer".

If he was serious, he is a disgrace. If he was joking, he is still a disgrace.

Guys like that can turn a community against the police, can cost innocent lives, and can cost their departments millions in lawsuits.

If he was from around here, I would ask you for his name so I could keep an eye out for that punk.

If that's his true attitude, he won't last on the streets.

If It is legal to record in Ks without second party notification,I would get him on tape and then turn him in letting the chief know that if he ever shoots anybody the tape will hit the news stations, that there is basically premeditated murder.

If such a tape was released to the news media immediately, it might save a life.

    Eagleks,

That is scary. I was in London a few months ago and I got to talking to some of the close protection guys about guns. It was quite funny, because the way it came up. We were waiting outside the room that had the hotel safe, while our respective clients dined. A hotel guest came and retrieved his shotgun from the hotel safe to take to a sporting event. After I spoke with the hotel guest about his prospects (which he thought were quite bad) the guys mentioned that there was growing outrage at the London Police for having just such a policy. Since you can't carry a gun in England, anyone that is seen with one, or what they believe to be one, is usually shot on sight according to these two fellows. Just the week before I was there, an Attorney (Solicitor) got drunk and was walking around inside his townhouse with a gun. A neighbor saw it, and called the Police. The Police show up, see him, and fire 40 rounds through his window killing him.
