Looking for some ideas on how to carry on long bike trips.
Shoulder and waist holsters are not practical in the summer
because I ride in a light T shirt.
Has anyone had any luck with tank bags ?

A tank bag would be my suggestion since you got rid of the shoulder holster. My brother uses a tank bag and loves it. What kind of bike?

I use a side holster . I also ride in a t shirt- but i got a mesh jacket that conceals the gun nicely . The jacket is light enough but has a nice dark liner that breaks up the printing of the gun. I was riding to lunch today next to a Leo and not even a seconded look from him.
I also have a tank bag for when i am going on longer trips just so i can be more comfy on the bike .
Thanks for the info , I'll give the tank bag a try.

I pocket carry a snubby when I ride.

I use a SOB holster with my Glock-36 when on my Harley.
The Fist (see above 'Related Links') #41 IWB/SOB single clip holster has a palm out draw and rides over the kidney, not the spine...very comfortable.

I carry mine in a crossbreed IWB holster with a T-shirt pulled over it,only downside is I had a strong crosswind once blew my T-shirt above my waist exposing my gun before I pulled it back down.An Ankle holster on a bike would allow you access and would be on your person at all times.I had an incident about an hour ago and I almost had a guy In a van back into me at a red light,I was honking my horn and the car next to me laid on his horn also to try to stop the guy,I was thinking If a van about ready to run me over isn't a deadly threat I don't know what is and actually contemplated putting a shot in his back door.My gun hand was on the horn button so it would have been a last second move.I think I need to carry a big rock velcroed to my bike so if it happens again I can get his attention without resorting to deadly force

I wear a Tucker IWB holster on my bike. It is a cruiser style and I have carried up to a full size 1911 without a problem. A light jacket to break up the printing is advisable. Also wear dark colored or printed shirts as they also break up the outline of any gun.

You might consider a Smart Carry (crotch pouch) holster. Advantages are that you can't leave your gun behind (as in a tank bag), the wind won't expose your weapon (as with an IWB holster), and it's far less likely to damage your body (than, e.g. an SOB holster) if you get thrown off.
Duke,
I have heard marbles work real good. They carry very nicely in a vest pocket. Not that I would do such a thing.

I carry my normal mode owb at 3:30 with a large T-shirt over it. I wear a vest alot also. Before CC I carried in my trip trunk or saddle bags. Hard bags are nice. Won't go back to soft bags.

I always pocket carried but I always wore protective gear with lots of pockets. I don't like road rash .

I have a good jacket with inside gun pockets but my p95 is a little to big
and my J frame Smith gets lost in it.
As bad as I hate it , I may have to buy another pistol.
