Deseret News | Ragsdale blames access to gun for his killing his wife
So this guy kills his wife in a church parking lot and now is looking for anything to blame it on instead of taking his own personal responsibility. I'm sure the anti's will quote this for many years... at least in utah for sure.
I did a search for this and didn't find anything, if it's already been posted please merge. Thanks!

Access to a gun made him do it, huh?
Access to cars contribute to drunk driving and access to forks leads to obesity.
Personal responsibility is out the door.

"Everybody is going to get in some type of argument," he said. (And) everybody has a breaking point.
False.
Why put yourself in a position with having a gun there, and you get in an argument and become enraged and you might use it?"
Speak for yourself.
Blaming anything other than his own decisions is a sign of not having learned personal accountability yet.

Two words for this guy: Scum. Bag.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Access made him do it, not his evil and deceit? Hm. That's a new one. Is he certain it wasn't the "freddie is a devil" messages he got from playing his albums in reverse?
"Why put yourself in a position with having a gun there, and you get in an argument and become enraged and you might use it?"
I'm of the opinion that nobody asking such a question can understand the answer, simple as it is. The purpose of putting myself in a "position" with having the means of defending against illegal attack and violent crime is self-evident: my life and the lives of my loved ones are of high value to me, and I'll fight to defend them and keep them. Finishing school (aka, your CHL training) should have taught you something, this core purpose at minimum.
As for getting enraged for no apparent cause ... well, that's part of the basic discipline of being a biped and playing among bipeds. Only the evil blow sideways on others. Having the ability to defend against broken bipeds doesn't change the math.

"None of this would have happened if my gun wasn't in my car," he said.
"In his mind, he's the painfully perfect poster child for gun control."
I think the gun control crowd hands are all over this, I smell a rat!

Yeah.
Instead of fingerprints on a gun, the LEO's would be taking photographs of the finger imprints on her gullet. Wouldn't have made a whole lot of difference, like as not. The man is evil and would have found some other way to express his evil. If not a gun, a knife; if not a knife, his hands; if not his hands; a lamp base; if not that, then strangulation or drowning or electrocution, or disabling of her car ... or some other method. The gun didn't make him do it, of course, though the bleating Bradys and others will certainly jump on his delusions as being proof of something. All it's proof of is that he's not worthy. And, he'll be eliminated for it, if there is any justice at all.

I don't think this guy should be serving 20 years in prison. I think he should have been strapped to a gurney and receive a lethal injection.

Utah citizens seem to have more common sense than most folks.

From reading the article, he shouldn't have had a permit in the first place.
With his history of depression, mood swings, spousal abuse, etc, and then add all that into the medications he was on with all of the side effects he would have been ineligible for the permit without lying on his application. Plus the 4473 he would have had to lie on.

Why Did You Run From The Police Son?
Do you realize that's an added felony?
Officer....It's Not My Fault That I Ran From The Cops!
I have legs.
Sooner or later EVERYBODY with legs is going to want to use them to RUN.
If I didn't have legs....I could not possibly have run away from the Police.
I didn't give myself legs ! and it's not my fault that I was born with them.
