Question For S. Carolina Permit holders
Did SLED cash your check when they received your application or did the wait to right before they issued it.
The reason I ask is I sent my application in a couple of weeks ago and the check has not been processed yet and I wonder if it may have got lost in the mail.

I am pretty sure they cash it when they issue it... they have stacks of paperwork, and they will not cash it until they open it and look at it...
I send a money order, certified so I do not know..
New Hampshire waited till I was accepted, cashed it, then I got the permit a week later.

90 days is SOP for receipt of permit in your mailbox. Don't forget that SLED is swamped with applications now.

They cash it as soon as they get it. Thats when your time starts. They get the packet and the next day the check clears your bank. Start counting right then.
Ask me how I know. I just do. LOL
Indeed they cash the check the day they receive it. Just for a heads up: Both my wife's permit and mine came in the mail box exactly 91 days from the day the check was cashed. 2 weeks apart and still 91 days each.
SLED isnt that far behind.

It took them 2 weeks to cash my check. I started counting my 90 days from that date.

I renewed on line giving them the maximuim lead time, 60 days, and the electronic check was cashed 3 days later. ALWAYS use a check so you can track it.

Thanks for all the input I double checked my bank records and found that it was cashed on the 13th so that is out of the way so 80 days to go.
