    First CC walk.

This last Saturday, I took my first CC walk at the local outdoor mall. This place is just buzzing with people. We walked around shopping for around 1 1/2 hours before leaving.

The best part was, my wife didn't even notice I was carrying until after I told her in the car.

After that, we went to Outback steakhouse for dinner. Before we went in, she asked if I wanted to put my pistol in the trunk of the car. I declined.

She is getting more and more interested in carrying herself. I really wish she would. She often works until 10pm and has to walk out to her car in a dimly lit parking lot, often by herself. I do not think it will take much more before she finally buys her own pistol and starts carrying.

Congrats on your first walk and on becoming a sheepdog!

This part of your post stuck out to me--maybe you could nudge her along if you gave your wife her own pistol?

Now if that don't say "I love you" I don't know what does

Congrats... my better half and daughters are thinking of getting theirs. I was able to get my wife interested in shooting by getting her a .22 pistol of her own. Now she owns a 9mm and shoots my .40.....and loves to go to the range. Life is good......lol, when I can find ammo.

This is in clear violation of the CC rule # 1...

Your 1st CC walk is always at the local Wal*Mart. While there you are required to purchase a box ammo, some nachos and a gun magazine.

You now have 48 hours to complete this step or otherwise return your permit.

Just make sure you are careful when going to places like outback, Friday's and applebees. If you are carrying make sure to stay out of the bar area. Its the quickest way to be in violation of the law and get your permit yanked.

Congratulations, and welcome to the world of defensive carry…

It’s a shame we live in such a world that there are those who would cause us harm, but we do.

    So, what ya packen?

To your point here; in TN it's illegal to enter an establishment that sells liquor by the drink period, whether you enter the 'bar area' or not. Not sure how much variablility there is among the states on this but I'd check into the language before you carry into this type of place again.

I understand the reasoning behind the provision but don't like it. I don't drink and would most like to be armed in this type of location. I'd be interested to know if there are any cases on the books where a ccw'er shot someone in what would have otherwise been a self defense shot in a location that it was illegal to carry.

I looked but WA law but couldn't find the detailed language.
