    Caliber of Miami BK shooter?

Regarding the Miami Burger King shooting - citizen shoots robber, robber dies, citizen wounded. Does anyone have information and a source on the caliber from either shooter? Thanks.

Nothing's been published, but it is a good bet that it was mostly a question of shot placement than caliber.
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

the police in Miami are skeptical about anybody asking questions when it is an ongoing investigation. when you talk to the police in Miami, you have to know exactly the place and time it happened because of the numerous shootings that occur there.

The one bright spot in this, is when I was reading the Miami Herald and the feedback was very positive that a concealed carry individual had retaliated in self-defence.

One thing is for sure, a good shot with a small caliber beats a 100 bad shots with a high caliber any day.

What makes you think BG .45? I thought it would be easier to hold a 9mm sideways when you shoot

The end result Good Guy = win and one less BG

I hope the Good Guy is recovering well.

Not that it matters much, but I'd bet
1st bet: they both had 9mm
2nd Bet: BG had a 9mm and the GG had something along the lines of a 38/380/32

Either way, the CHL holder had an Assault Pistol that was fully automatic and rigged for Murder Death Kill! (sarcasm off). Reading some of the comments below the Herald story makes me doubt the future of the US of A in another 10 years! Some sheeple just make my head hurt!

I'd go with BG 9mm (Gang Bangers like lots of rounds, don't really care about shot placement as much as causing fear), GG could be anything but since as a community we have a tendency to think about placing shots with punch as opposed to throwing rounds down range I would say .45 is more likely.

Well the BG wasn't completely "vaporized" so we know it wasn't a 10mm the GG was shooting, My guess is BG-9mm, GG-45 but that is just a guess

Although I am curious, I think it relatively irrelevant.

Thugs, 'bangers, and various hoods and crooks handle a gun like Plaxico Burris. The GG probably went to range, practiced at home, etc. He had a plan.

The BG was simply threatening innocent bystanders with his piece, and never really understood he would have to defend himself in a gun fight with an honest, legally-armed citizen.

    !

For the BG I would strongly bet on 9MM of not .38 Special.
For the GG it could be anything and everything just pick a number, any number be it 22 on up to 45...though notably anything other than BAM DRT Ten. :p

I'm glad the GG is alive abd hope he recovers soon. I am curious as to what caliber both guy's guns were. I also have to say I've always been a firm believer in shot placement over caliber. In my mind a .380 in the chest is better than .45 in the shoulder.

I have to say when some gun shop commando tells me my .38 snubby isn't good enough incase I have to shoot through some heavy clothing(which here in Florida isn't likely). I point out the murderer of john lennon used a .38 caliber snub nose revolver with JHP ammo. This takes me back to shot placement because the JHP ammo back then out of a snub nose revolver probably didn't even expand, ammounting to more of a FMJ bullet being used.

What I'm getting at is that Lennon's murderer placed his shots well(unfortunatly),meaning is didn't matter the gun he used wasn't a large caliber weapon.

We wern't there so we don't know what happened but I'd venture to say that the BG didn't use good shot placement and the GG did.
