"Hello to everyone,
A little news to update for those who have attended classes recently and for those that may very soon. In our recent classes students received some information about being able to carry concealed in National Parks and Wildlife Refuges, well the anti-gun establishment is hard at work, please read below:
* On Thursday, March 19, a federal district court in Washington, D.C. granted anti-gun plaintiffs (BRADY CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT GUN VIOLENCE), a preliminary injunction against implementation of the new rule allowing law-abiding citizens to defend themselves by carrying a concealed firearm in national parks and wildlife refuges.
* In Thursday's ruling, Federal District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly issued the preliminary injunction against the Department of the Interior rule that took effect on January 9, 2009.
* The revised rule allowed individuals to carry concealed firearms for self-defense in national parks and national wildlife refuges located in states that allow the carrying of concealed firearms.
* Today, NRA filed a notice of appeal in Federal District Court to oppose the preliminary injunction."

While we all agree the ruling sucks, and hope for it to be quickly overturned, that won't be an end to it. This will probably not be over until decided by SCOTUS.

This is just the "tip of the iceberg."
I would like to thank everyone that voted for the current president, as you have voted to stamp out the Second and lead us in to socialism.
It is only going to get worse folks. I wonder if Lady Liberty will survive this time?

Well, I suppose its time for any hold-outs to join the NRA, otherwise this whole “right to bear arms” thing’ will become yesterday’s news.

Because somehow hiking with a concealed pistol might have a huge environmental impact...

Regards,

Haven't you heard? According to the Anti's, it's a Privilege not a Right. And Privileges can be taken away from bad little boys and girls, because They Know Best.
I have heard/seen our 2nd Amendment RIGHT refered to as a PRIVILEGE 6 or 7 times in the last few days on the news. They are trying to take this away one misconception at a time.

The NRA's the one that screwed this one up for you. Hold on for link:
Here you go, discussed in detail. Grab a cup of coffee:

NRA and Brady had no business being involved in the challenge. DOI failed to challenge brady's standing, and the NRA talking about how often people use guns for defense played right into Brady's challenge. Read the attached thread for more detail.

The anti-gun rule was enacted by conservative and supposidly pro-gun Reagan. His press secretary was Brady. The judge was appointed by Clinton. The ruling was requested by the Brady Group. How do you connect this to the current president? If McCain had won the election the same thing would have happened.

Remind me when I'm out hiking in the Smokeys to ask the rapist/bear/etc to "hang on for a sec and just follow me to a place where CC is legal, because I'm unarmed at the moment and it's not fair."

I am well aware that it was Reagan that put the "No Firearms" rule in to play.
See my comment about the "tip of the iceberg". I believe that this administration is going to do away with the Second, and will use any excuse it can to do so.
I do not disagree that if McCain had won that this would be happening as well. I tie this to the current president because he really is not in favor of citizens being free. If you doubt me, look at his voting history. I'm too cynical to believe he has done an "about face" on the issue of guns and now embraces the Second.
All I said was "This is just the tip of the iceberg." We will have a lot more battles coming, in regards to defending the Second under this administration, I believe. I'll keep my guns, you can keep the "Change".

I doubt that there are more than a handful of people on this forum who voted for the present POTUS
Unfortunately, you are right; the road to socialism is one way, like a ratchet
The first rule of a gunfight: "Don't be there !"
The second rule: "Bring enough gun"

I do not understand how a JUDGE, in a distinctly different branch of the government, appointed by a different President, sitting in a federal circuit court, deciding an issue regarding a law (rule change) authorized by then President Bush,in a suit brought by the Brady bunch, has ANYTHING to do with current President Obama.
My gods man, not EVERYTHING is "Obama's fault."
