At the feed store... or guess who is packing
So I had to run into the feed store today to pick up hay for the horses. I go in there a few times a week for feed and today the owner and I along with two of the employees are talking about current events.
One of them mentions my "Guns Save Lives" sticker on my van. I tell them Im a member of Grass Roots in SC and then I mention they dont have the no carry signs on the doors.
The owner says "Hell we want you to carry here". I say wow thats great cause Ive been carrying in here when I usually come in.
They all say "So have we". The owner pulls back his coat to reveal a Kahr .45 worn OWB. The girl who takes my money reaches down and pulls a Keltec. 380 out of her purse.
The owner then tells me he just spent 3 months getting his FFL and now he cant buy any guns or ammo because of the supply and demand issue we all know about.
He then asks what Im carrying and I lift the shirt to show him the P11.
The owner asks to see it so I unload it and hand it to him.
He looks it over and hands it back. I reload it and holster.
Then we started talking about cows and fencing.
I thought it was a good time and since I had been shopping there for almost 3 years it was kinda cool to see us all on the same page.

I would feel much greater about spending my money in that place. Good people.

A lot of my general friends and acquaintances have their permits...but rarely if ever carry. Some leave them in their glove box. Some leave them at home. I however am carrying when I am awake pretty much. If I am able.

A couple of years ago I was getting a haircut in our local one-chair, small town barbershop.
I had been in there quite a few times but never said too much, just get a quick cut and be gone...usually with a few other fellas sitting around.
This one day it was just the 75 Y/O barber an myself. We got to talking about crime, the NRA and then about guns. I talked about the importance of SD and he agreed and pulled a .32 caliber revolver out of his pocket. I lifted my shirt to expose my Kimber...we were both pleasantly surprised...but not really surprised.
Stay armed...ya' gotta' love small southern towns...stay safe!

good to hear more and more people like that. Also good that they can talk openly about it. around here its more of a "hush" topic, Some day i hope all the sheep can wake up.
