What exactly is an age restriction doing in there? I guess all the criminals and dangerous people are younger than 18.
i really hope this passes. I am getting tired of having to leave my gun in the car if I want to go out to eat with my wife. The only place besides fast food seems to be cracker barrel and that gets old. not to mention that most of the shootings seem to happen where guns arnt allowed.![]()
Called and Emailed! I have been calling and emailing for a couple of weeks steady and even before that less frequently.
I think it will pass easily in the Senate since the same bill has been submitted for the last 8 years and passed the Senate every year with no problem. We have even more of a pro gun majority now so it will pass handily.
However, I New Jersey born and raised Liberal Governor has said he may veto it. But, we should be Ok there too since the pro gun majority in both the House and Senate are enough to over ride any veto by the Gov.

Its amazing how several pro gun bills have made it through so far this year and hopefully a few more before they are done. And its all because the Republicans took control of the House and Naifeh lost his job as speaker. Now the pro gun Republicans and Democrats that wanted this stuff all along are getting things done. Don't tell me elections don't matter!
Raising children is like being pecked to death by a chicken every day.
You're right Naifeh stopped most pro-gun bills in committee, so they couldn't come to a vote. I think he knew if they came to a vote they'd pass.

Don't get me going on Naifeh.
Emailed, can't get a call through right now.![]()

...I was under the impression that the Senate version of the bill DID NOT have the time restriction. Was I mistaken? The english in this thing seems somewhat elusive to me....maybe I'm just stupid...

Your right SweetSig. The Senate version of the bill does not contain the 11:00p.m. curfew that the House version of the bill contains. If the Senate version passes, then the House will vote on whether to go along with the Senate version. If not, the House and Senate will have to get together and iron out a bill that will be acceptable to both. Either way we are going to be better off than we are right now.![]()
Raising children is like being pecked to death by a chicken every day.
I've written letters letting them know that while I do not reside in Tn, we at one time spent a lot of time in Tn and spent a lot of money there. When Ga passed the new law curtailing the restrictions on carrying in a restaurant it pretty much put an end to our crossing the state line for food and shopping.
I like Chattanooga and truely hope Tn passes better carry laws in the near future.
SB1127 Passed the Senate today. Now its back to the House to see if they will accept the Senate version without the curfew restriction.

yep. it passed. So if the house doesn't pass it without the curfew, it will go to a house-senate committee right? i just hope our lawmakers get it done. And over on Sigforum someone said Bredeson said he just wouldn't sign it. So after 30 days it would be law. Who knows. this is stressful!!
