Empty Holster Friday's
I believe WE (2A believers) should begin our own protest by wearing an empty holster every Friday, similar to the Texas A & M empty holster campus protest. It would be interesting to see the ground swell of 2A believers and we'd be able to spread a positive word on defense of our loved ones. Comments? Downside...we may give up a tactical advantage on Friday's. People wouldn't know if you concealed carried or not. You are just wearing an empty holster.

Well, it sounds like a good idea to me. Especially because I am now considered (officially no less) an extreme right wing terrorist (and proud of it). I just have one thing to ask. Are you proposing to have an empty holster only in the places you are not aloud to carry?
Any way, it sounds good to me. How can we spread the word. How did the TEA parties get the word out?

I would consider an empty holster and still conceal carry elsewhere on my body. Also, my bug is always with me. :-) Not sure how to get the word out...I'm sure some smarter guys will tell us! Hooah

Unfortunately I am not sure that this would really do all that good. As many open carry guys will attest (I conceal carry so it is second hand), MOST people do not see the gun when you are open carrying...how many will see the holster and know what it is.
Perhaps we should paint the holsters red to bring attention to it. We all have a holster we don't use (at least I know I do). I could paint it red and write "ask me" in white letters on it.
What do you think?

Hmmm ! Your average guy/gal is probably not aware that you are carrying a holster; those who will recognize it will think "He forgot his gun
"
Unless there is media coverage
I don't see making a big impact ...

The majority of people would think you're nuts and would never understand the concept or cause.

Right, media coverage is the way to go.

Instead of possibly ruining a holster painting it red, why dont we get some kind of large button, or sticker in red with the words "Support Open Carry", or as someone else said "Ask Me"

I like the sticker idea, I would do it. The sticker would convey the message clearly.
